  1. Yes it was, but the locals kind of shot it down. Stating people wouldn't run if they weren't being cited, for doing what has been accepted for years until recently. It seems Forest City's police force has grown. Unfortunately I will be on the road for the May Nep sno/ATV trails meeting on 2nd Tuesday @6pm on lower main street in forest city. I will also be absent from our meeting. We are going to my nephews graduation in Fla & going to scope out some trails there as well 👍😉I think it is important if one or 2 or more of our members could go. We want more legal local trails. It's in our best interest to get involved, & have a voice. Or we can just accept the crumbs that we've been given so far 👍😉
  2. I attended a meeting at the Forest City municipal building this evening. There was a nice turnout. The meeting was about possibly opening local roads to access gas stations & downtown Forest City businesses & eating establishments. There were many in favor & more than a few on the fence leaning towards opposing. The mayor voiced that he is in favor of designating specific access. Jim from Lakewood was there. Most of the Nep sno/ATV trail people were there. Sean spoke at length a few times in favor of "legal" trails. The locals who favor opening local roads were also pushing for the D&H to be re-opened to motorized, at least the portion that would connect O&W to D&H for access to Forest City businesses & gas station. Many of the locals spoke in favor. Many did really understand that you can't really allow just SXS & not ATV's under current DCNR related stuff. Many of the locals complaints were of dirtbikes & a few were complaining about snowmobiles as well lol. Most of the NEPa sno/ATV trails crew spoke at least once. Sean offered solutions in the form of DCNR grants for signage & was offering to coordinate with other suggestions. The meetings was held because some residents feel that they're being harassed by law enforcement as of late, when the attitude in the past was more laid back,& live & let live. There was proposed time & day limits/curfew, mentions of a pass to drive into town etc. The lackawanna county feasibility study was brought up. There was a local guy who is also an employee of Aoaa there who spoke of the benefits that Shamokin has experienced. Another person brought up Potter County & what's going on there. Those in favor were pointing out economic gain for the community if off roaders were allowed access to town & "other trails". The meeting lasted about an hour & a half. I didn't speak, I felt it best to observe & learn, get the vibes of those in favor & concerns of those opposed . I think we should keep our ears to the ground here. It could set a precedent for the rest of the area & surrounding areas. Our politicians are starting to recognize that we take our hard earned $$$ elsewhere at a loss to our local communities, so that we can ride without hassle 👍😉

  4. On 3/12 close to a dozen Valley ATV Club members attended the meeting. We were among an estimated 200+, both in person & online. We were well received. There were also several board members from NEPa sno trails in the room. I knew they were having their meeting on the 13th & adjusted my schedule so I could attend it. A lot was discussed. On the downside they voted to increase the cost of a trail pass to $75/season. On the positive side they are collaborating with Jim Kemmerer of the Lakewood Lodge to get roads opened in Preston township. They also have gotten uniondale to open up the road between Backwoods BBQ & The Beacon Bar & Grill. They are also developing a few loop trails off of the O&W. Their attitude about expanding south seems to have changed drastically in the last year. They also seem to be wanting to position themselves to take responsibility of managing the proposed riding areas in Carbondale. After the meeting I was talking with Sean, one of their board members, & he told me his vision is to create a 500 mile or more trail system. I offered my help if & when necessary. He suggested that our clubs might want to consider collaborating. I urge all that can attend the NEPa sno trails meetings to do so. They're normally the 2nd Tuesday of the month @6pm 1108 lower main street Forest City. They have a Facebook page. Normally their meetings are public every other month. The private meetings are board of directors meetings. I intend to go to their meetings whenever I am in town. It would be nice if one or two of our members could get on their board of directors, to help steer things in a better direction. They're finally realizing that their isn't enough snow to keep them going 👍😝 That's all I have to report. Feel free to comment & give feedback etc
  5. Thank You ! What rear view camera did you go with ?My dealer recommended vision works. I went on their website & they have a system that integrates w/your trucks existing backup monitor. I don't really want another gizmo cluttering my cab. We're gonna be running a C.B. & I have never had any luck w/suction cups on my windshields. Too much nicotine lol 👍😝
  6. Is there a preferred type or brand of anti-sway hitch systems ? It seems like it's a necessary accessory & pricey. I'd like to buy one that works best. Opinions, input & comments from personal experience are much appreciated O
  7. Has anyone had any experience good/bad with Meyers RV or Stoltzfus RV ? I am looking at a Salem FSX 190RTK & so far Stoltzfus came in with best price. Meyers was about $6k more but is offering to attempt to meet or beat, but that sales person reminds me of shady R.E. agents in the mid 90's lol.
  8. I reached out to them. They're looking. Think I might have found one. Forest river Salem FSX 190 RTKX has 17' of garage space & is like 26' long. They also make the same thing in their Wildwood lineup. Trying to determine difference. Got quote from Stoltzfus of just under 32k out the door. He was 1k under an alleged wholesaler in Ohio lol 👍😝 There is a 10-12 week lead time on orders. We have a Fla trip planned in May for nephews graduation & I plan to visit an old buddy from work who rides m.c. & offroads too 👍😉
  9. I've used atvtrader to find my last few atvs & autotrader to find my last 5 vehicles & the search parameters are broad. It seems the toyhauler search engines focus more on advertising the amenities than they do the functionality. There is no option for extra large garage 😐
  10. That's a lot of legwork. I was hoping to find a simpler way. I found one unicorn by accident w/17' garage & decent layout, from forest river but only found one for sale used in texas. I saw a momentum w/16'+ garage but bathroom layout sucks. They put the toilet right in front of the shower at an angle & a Murphy bed 👍😝. It didn't bother me but Denise said no lol. That one is 26', where as the forest river is 33' I want to be able to put the Harley trike & a SXS or the ATV in plus the kayaks & go 👍😉 I have a trip to Florida in May for nephews graduation. It would be nice to hit some trails while we're there 👍😉
  11. I'm looking for a good search engine to find a toyhauler matching my needs. The unicorns are out there lol. I'm looking for a forest river sandstorm 282slr or similar w/17' garage. The search engines that I've used don't offer length of garage as a search option 😐 Thanx in advance
  12. There wad no difference in insurance my concern is longevity, but also the ability to make a trailroad repair. It seems that many of these units are welded to the frame & require a big expense to replace. On a different note it seems that airstream started using this system in the mid 60's. The upgrade is about $250. I'm gonna investigate a little more. If Denise doesn't come up with something better, I'm probably placing order on tuesday. Contemplating multiple rows of E-bar & ladder rack on top, for multi use 👍😉
  13. I am looking to get an enclosed trailer. The ones on the lot didn't really suit my needs, so I might have one built. I was offered a choice between leaf spring axle or torsion axle. Leaning towards leaf for longevity & easier replacement. Has anyone had experience with both ? If so what is your preference on a trailer that might get pulled off road occasionally ? Thanx in advance for the input 👍😉
  14. Thanx !!! The one I was looking at sold quick. It had perfect layout for my needs & was 30'
