  4. My camper came prepped for a Furion camera so that is what I went with.
  5. On 3/12 close to a dozen Valley ATV Club members attended the meeting. We were among an estimated 200+, both in person & online. We were well received. There were also several board members from NEPa sno trails in the room. I knew they were having their meeting on the 13th & adjusted my schedule so I could attend it. A lot was discussed. On the downside they voted to increase the cost of a trail pass to $75/season. On the positive side they are collaborating with Jim Kemmerer of the Lakewood Lodge to get roads opened in Preston township. They also have gotten uniondale to open up the road between Backwoods BBQ & The Beacon Bar & Grill. They are also developing a few loop trails off of the O&W. Their attitude about expanding south seems to have changed drastically in the last year. They also seem to be wanting to position themselves to take responsibility of managing the proposed riding areas in Carbondale. After the meeting I was talking with Sean, one of their board members, & he told me his vision is to create a 500 mile or more trail system. I offered my help if & when necessary. He suggested that our clubs might want to consider collaborating. I urge all that can attend the NEPa sno trails meetings to do so. They're normally the 2nd Tuesday of the month @6pm 1108 lower main street Forest City. They have a Facebook page. Normally their meetings are public every other month. The private meetings are board of directors meetings. I intend to go to their meetings whenever I am in town. It would be nice if one or two of our members could get on their board of directors, to help steer things in a better direction. They're finally realizing that their isn't enough snow to keep them going ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜ That's all I have to report. Feel free to comment & give feedback etc
  6. Thank You ! What rear view camera did you go with ?My dealer recommended vision works. I went on their website & they have a system that integrates w/your trucks existing backup monitor. I don't really want another gizmo cluttering my cab. We're gonna be running a C.B. & I have never had any luck w/suction cups on my windshields. Too much nicotine lol ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜
  7. I up graded my hitch when I got my new camper. I went with the Equalizer 4 Point hitch. It is for weight distribution and sway control. I read alot of reviews on line about it before I purchased it. I only used it once on a 2 hour trip to bring my camper home and it worked good. I recommend having the dealership install it for you when you pick up your camper. It is important to have it adjusted properly.
  8. Thanks Mike for the update. I plan on attending the meeting

  13. Has anyone had any experience good/bad with Meyers RV or Stoltzfus RV ? I am looking at a Salem FSX 190RTK & so far Stoltzfus came in with best price. Meyers was about $6k more but is offering to attempt to meet or beat, but that sales person reminds me of shady R.E. agents in the mid 90's lol.
  14. I reached out to them. They're looking. Think I might have found one. Forest river Salem FSX 190 RTKX has 17' of garage space & is like 26' long. They also make the same thing in their Wildwood lineup. Trying to determine difference. Got quote from Stoltzfus of just under 32k out the door. He was 1k under an alleged wholesaler in Ohio lol ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜ There is a 10-12 week lead time on orders. We have a Fla trip planned in May for nephews graduation & I plan to visit an old buddy from work who rides m.c. & offroads too ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜‰
  15. did you scout out the old Pocono RV place in Wind Gap, they have a big selection.

DCNR published an ATV Regional Pilot Report (PDF), which shares findings regarding the pilot on the departmentโ€™s website. The Fiscal Code in the 2023-24 state budget instructed DCNR to continue operating the regional system for 2024 and 2025, as the agencyโ€™s authority for the pilot program has ended. This is an interim administrative measure prior to the establishment of a multi-jurisdictional authority. The ATV Regional Trail Connector pilot was created in response to growing ATV purchases, registrations, and public demand for increased riding opportunities. Through collaborations with public and private partners, the pilot offered long-distance riding opportunities and contribute to local economies, while maintaining the many uses and values of the state forest system. DCNRโ€™s Bureau of Forestry implemented a comprehensive monitoring program to evaluate the pilots social, environmental, and economic impact. Detailed information regarding monitoring can be found in the legislative report (PDF), including the key finding that a multi-jurisdictional authority is necessary to operate a trail connector program moving forward to ensure proper staffing, budget, and expertise to address the needs of the trail system. Other highlights include: Short-term impacts of the pilot placed minimal impacts on state forest resources Riders were generally satisfied with the pilot 71 percent of non-motorized recreationists shared dissatisfaction with the pilot Citing dust, noise, and the availability of law enforcement resources, 46 percent of residents expressed dissatisfaction with the pilot DCNR issued 10,779 passes cumulatively during the three seasons of the ATV pilot, with riders from Pennsylvania and 19 other states purchasing passes for the trail system Economic monitoring estimated a total economic impact of $8.2 million in 2022 and $11.7 million in 2023 for Potter and Tioga counties Routes used for the pilot were made possible through engaged involvement and cooperation of local townships to open their roads to ATV use. The 2023 pilot route included 374 miles total comprised of township roads, state forest roads and trails, and PennDOT-administered roads. The 2024 route will remain the same and information on the routes, passes, and maps will be shared in early spring 2024. Visit DCNRโ€™s website for more information about ATV riding opportunities in state forests, and check out DCNRโ€™s Calendar of Events for events on public lands. 17. I've used atvtrader to find my last few atvs & autotrader to find my last 5 vehicles & the search parameters are broad. It seems the toyhauler search engines focus more on advertising the amenities than they do the functionality. There is no option for extra large garage ๐Ÿ˜
  18. That's a lot of legwork. I was hoping to find a simpler way. I found one unicorn by accident w/17' garage & decent layout, from forest river but only found one for sale used in texas. I saw a momentum w/16'+ garage but bathroom layout sucks. They put the toilet right in front of the shower at an angle & a Murphy bed ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜. It didn't bother me but Denise said no lol. That one is 26', where as the forest river is 33' I want to be able to put the Harley trike & a SXS or the ATV in plus the kayaks & go ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜‰ I have a trip to Florida in May for nephews graduation. It would be nice to hit some trails while we're there ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜‰
  19. did you try the manufacturer website, download the spec sheets and user manuals?
  20. I'm looking for a good search engine to find a toyhauler matching my needs. The unicorns are out there lol. I'm looking for a forest river sandstorm 282slr or similar w/17' garage. The search engines that I've used don't offer length of garage as a search option ๐Ÿ˜ Thanx in advance
  21. Lots of good information to know. Thanks Mike
  22. (This was posted last May on Facebook) Bloody Skillet ATV Park Riders Forum Warnings-Reminders for the summer riding season at BSATV Park and the connector trails and legal roads. 1) the DCNR Rangers now have full PSP authority over all vehicles on all roads. So if you encounter them be polite,โ€ and stop if asked to. 2) they will be looking for clearly displayed ATV registration tags. Helmets strapped on for all occupants. Covered auxiliary lights. Open alcohol containers in/on the machine, and if any are found may look in any cooler. 2a) a simple way to cover auxiliary lights is to use one quart ziplock bags duct taped over them. 3) make sure you have your drivers license and proof of insurance with you too. Failure to provide it when asked is a violation on your drivers license. 4)โ€pack it in - pack it outโ€ with any trash that you may accumulate or find. 5)riding in any township roads at any unreasonable speed or exceeding any posted speed limit only leads to trouble for all of us. 6) be courteous to any residential or camp property that you pass. They may or may not be ATVers and if you irritate them the DCNR will receive calls and if they have your tag number expect a call or visit from the DCNR ranger office. 7) if for any reason you are riding through Orviston, please use Front Street along Beech Creek stream. Keeping in mind that Curtin Twp. has not approved ATV riding on any of their roads and that includes Orviston. 8)๐Ÿ˜Ž likely places to encounter DCNR rangers a) Kato bridge crossing area b) Cook House mine area c) East of the gas line at the BSATV trail connector head. d) Mclosky Rd intersection with the Orviston-Kato Rd. along the BSATV Connector trail. e)either side of the ATV bridge over BC stream on the trail. f ) at the intersection of Bear Creek Forest Rd. and the north side connector trail head. g) there are generally 2 or 3 sweep patrols daily from PA144 on the Dehass Rd through all BSATV Park staging areas along the Dehass Rd - through Orviston - along the Orviston-Kato rd. , then over to the SSRT trail head and/or out Panther Rd to 144. The direction of travels varies by the Ranger. Typical times a ranger goes through Orviston is 8-9am, 1-2pm, and 4-5pm. That all depends on how many rangers are on duty and if they have to make any stops. One additional thing, any speeding, reckless driving, or moving violations, DUI, fleeing, eluding, etc. will be cited go on your state drivers license tally.
