2007/2008 Club Sponsors

I feel that our club sponsors kind of get pushed in the background sometimes so I thought it would be nice to bring them forward. The club sponsors are a great asset to us as they not only help in bringing new members to the club, but also are there for us when we may need a little help. With that in mind here is a list of the Club's sponsors for 2007/2008. If there are any missing from here please notify someone.

Advance Cycle
43 Front St
Dupont, PA
(570)602-2281

ATV Special Events
Endicott NY
(607) 785-1330

A.J.
Change of Seasons

Even though it may not seem like it at this point; spring has sprung and State Forest trails are now closed until Memorial Day. Luckily, with some new riding areas popping up here and there we can continue to get out and enjoy this cold weather. Hopefully the warmer stuff will be showing its face soon and 10 layers of clothing won't be required to go out. I think most of us are looking forward to the warm weather and some good mud pits being created. For those of you who are new to this site we welcome you to browse around. We have a lot of good pictures in our gallery from rides of the years and all sorts of chat and other information on our forums. Go and check those areas out and you can get an idea of who we are and what we are about or even come check out a meeting if you feel up to it. I just thought I would write a little something to update our page and you're all welcome to submit your own story, information, or most anything you want to be viewed in this location.

Happy Holidays

Hello Everyone! Another year, 2006, is coming to its end and with that we would like to say Happy Holidays to everyone out there. For your reading pleasure he is a short overview of 2006 in the eyes of the Valley ATV Club

We had a pretty low key year filled with riding all over the place at some of our favorite areas and even some new ones. We made out yearly late winter ride out to Sproul State Forest with a little change up from our usual lodging that seemed to be an interesting experience for those involved. By the time the year concludes the club will have made 3 trips out to SSRT rides and so far each proved to be fun, wet, and full of great food. Hopefully the final trip out will be with good weather. We've had scares with riding being taken away at Tug Hill, but it appears that hopefully some is back on track to open.

Our annual club picnic was hosted at Majestic Kamp & Lost Trails. They put on a great weekend of food and riding for us and we thank them for their efforts; except for the rain part(we can live without that next time.)

It seems that Poker Runs are the new way to go as the year has been filled with them. They usually offer us good riding, food, and a way to support a good cause. Hopefully they will grow in numbers and we can continue to attend for legal riding. We also found a great new place to ride in Canada. Its a drive, but its worth it for a long weekend with lots of seat time. Another trip is already in the works for 2007.

This is just a run down of what happened, but hopefully the rest of the memories will be with you forever. See you all soon and ride safe.

State Forests Now Open

Some of Pennsylvania's State Forests are now open for winter riding. They opened on December 10th and should be open until April 1 2007. Its best to call up and check to make sure the particular place you're going to ride is open instead of finding out when it is too late. You can get information on all of PA's State Forest at the Department of Conservation and National Resources' website. Once they close in April they will be off limits until Memorial Day weekend.

Rusty Palmers is open again!

Rusty Palmers has reopened after a devestating fire. It's been only two weeks and they have reopened in the old Tri-State sports center. The new location is right up the street from the old location. I spoke to Rusty and he says that he will rebuild and to expect a bigger and better store. Knowing how great the old one was, I can't wait! Good luck Rusty!

Happy Holidays!

Hello Everyone! It’s that time again - time to re-cap another exciting year for the Valley ATV Club. Boy have we been busy!

Our web site forums continue to be a favorite way to communicate news and share ride stories. In February the club purchased a new digital camera so our web site’s photo gallery contains a treasure of club memories.

We updated our club charter and created and printed new color brochures which are distributed in many of our sponsor member showrooms. We submitted ATV related articles to the Pennsylvania Family magazine and have gotten published (thanks to Shannon!) We had our club banner updated with our current web site, purchased and distributed logo stickers for the windows of member’s vehicles, and made available for purchase large (3’x4’) logos for the sides of member’s econo-campers (a.k.a. enclosed trailers!)

We have been very active this year in trying to find or create new legal places to ride. We have joined with several other area clubs to form the ARTS (Anthracite Regional Trail System) Coalition. This is the next step in the process to create a legal trail system in our part of the state. We also sent representatives to the Rock Run Recreation Area in Cambria County which expects to open to the public in the spring of 2006. We added Tower City, Tug Hill NY, and Oxford NY, to our travel list and had some great rides locally and by invitation only that we hope will develop into club favorites.

We made repeat trips to Sproul, Potter, Snow Shoe, Hatfield McCoy, Majestic, Mehoopany, Burnt Mills, and the Mountain. We hit another new record for the number of members on a single ride – 36 (including the flying Hellers!) made the trek to Snow Shoe for their annual BBQ and ride in July. We again had members participate in the Scranton St. Patrick’s Day Parade, including some young members who are quite proud of their 90cc quads.

We had another great family picnic hosted by the West family, sold Krispy Kreme donuts, were joined by many new members and saw many old members buy new quads. I could continue but I’ve run out of page… See you in 2005!
